Internet use, like most things we do, releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere either from the creation of technological hardware or in our use of it.

We plant a tree for your new website!

Website Freedom arrange for a tree to be planted when we develop and host a website for you. The trees planted through our activity, are planted in Alladale, Scotland, through a registered charity.

Trees help counter carbon dioxide emissions and whilst our tree planting doesn't solve everything it is at least a positive step. 

Even if you're a global warming sceptic, a recent survey found that 80% would be inclined to choose a supplier who planted trees over one that didn't.  That might be a motivation in itself!

Other businesses supporting the tree planting in Alladale are Toshiba, Honda, Ericsson, Body Shop, Bombardier, Skoda, Canon, to mention but a few.

Carbon and UK Forestry

There is only 1% of our UK ancient forest still intact but UK forests help to counter carbon dioxide emissions by removing over 10 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year!

The trees planted in Alladale are species native to the UK, helping to reestablish the Ancient British Forest.
